Internet and Technology Safety for Children and Youth
(7 p.m. to 9 p.m., April 25, 2017 at Santa Maria Goretti Centre)
Most of us use technology daily. We use it to get updates about world affairs and our social circles, to connect with each other and to work efficiently. Internet and Technology are now integral and essential parts of our professional and private lives. But as technology advances, so does its usage for sexual exploitation and sexual assault. Join us for an evening overview about technology safety for youth and children.
Participants will learn:
- How to identify signs of sexual exploitation.
- What consent is in the context of online behaviours and how to identify when consent is violated.
- How the sexual exploitation of children through the Internet investigated and prosecuted.
- What resources are available.
(7 p.m. to 9 p.m., April 27, 2017 at Santa Maria Goretti Centre)
Join the conversation that supports a cultural shift in thinking from one that enables sexual exploitation to one that supports accountability and healthy relationships. Panelists will provide a range of diverse perspectives and approaches to engage youth and men.
