The 2020 Sexual Exploitation Week of Awareness will be held this year May 25 – 29.

Thank you for remembering to wear ORANGE during the week of awareness to show your support

This annual week of awareness is organized and hosted by the Sexual Exploitation Working Group (SEWG) – an Edmonton-based leadership group collaborating to create awareness of sexual exploitation and its causes and impacts.

The SEWG is a collaborative of community partners, law enforcement, municipal and provincial government.

Please join us, or our amazing community partners, for the following events and learning opportunities taking place during this week:

Sexual Exploitation Week of Awareness Proclamation

Tuesday May 26 2019 12:00-1:00 pm at Edmonton City Hall (1 Sir Winston Churchill Square)

SAFFRON Centre, Sewing the Seeds of Resilience Conference

Thursday May 28 – Friday May 29, Strathcona County Community Centre (401 Festival Lane, Sherwood Park, AB)

What is the Sowing the Seeds of Resilience Conference?

The focus of our conference is twofold. First, we will recognize the impact of trauma on those who have been victims of a crime or on survivors of other types of trauma, and also on those who work with them. Secondly, we will begin to have conversations and learn tools that will help us build resilience in our clients and also within ourselves.

Please visit Saffron Centre for more information and to register for this exciting conference.
